It was designed to provide children with a fully usable, functional knife, but of course with many safety features to maximize safety. The knife is made out of MAC’s molybdenum stainless steel, and the edge is actually quite sharp (which we agree it should be). Both the tip and the heel of the blade have been rounded and dulled to prevent accidental cuts and injuries. The curved heel provides great support for your child’s index finger. The handle is made of Lamar resin which makes it slip-resistant and comfortable to use. The handle oval and thin to fit in smaller hands.
